Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sunday that the country needed to be able to torture to “beat ISIS” and “beat the savages.”
Trump said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that ISIS isn’t playing by the rules.
“We’re not playing by — we are playing by rules, but they have no rules. It’s very hard to win when that’s the case,” Trump said.
“Isn’t that what separates us from the savages?” CBS host John Dickerson asked Trump.
“No, we have to beat the savages,” Trump replied.
“Obviously, all you have to do is take a look at what’s going on. And they’re getting worse,” Trump continued. “They’re chopping, chopping, chopping, and we’re worried about waterboarding. I just think it’s – I think our priorities are mixed up.”
And to think: I used to be frightened by the likes of Curtis LeMay!
Years ago I was told you don’t want to lower yourself to your opponents level. Thus I will not respond to this ***** of ****.
What his supporters hear.

Can’t really expect moral authority from a guy with multiple divorces and bankruptcies. A guy who played hardball against his own disabled nephew’s healthcare needs, not to mention, an easy penchant for breaking the laws of the Constitution.
He’s going back to what seems to work for him as Cruz looks to be a threat.
So Trump is for torture after he was against it after he was for it. Maybe he’s for it on odd days of the month, and against it on evens. Maybe he flips a coin.
Since he’s admitted in legal documents that his valuation of his own net worth changes day to day depending on how he feels, maybe he’s for torture on days when he feels he’s worth less than he’d like.
