Trump Ad Claims Clinton's Emails Found On 'Pervert Anthony Weiner's Laptop'

In a new television ad announced on Thursday, the Donald Trump campaign claims that Hillary Clinton's emails were found on "pervert Anthony Weiner's laptop" and that Clinton and Weiner left exposed "America's most sensitive secrets."

"Hillary Clinton is under FBI investigation again after her emails were found on pervert Anthony Weiner’s laptop," an announcer says in the ad. "America’s most sensitive secrets, unlawfully sent, received and exposed by Hillary Clinton, her staff, and Anthony Weiner. Hillary cannot lead a nation while crippled by a criminal investigation."

The ad refers to FBI Director James Comey's letter to Congress noting that the bureau would review new emails related to the probe into Clinton's private email server. The FBI reportedly found the emails on Weiner's laptop while investigating allegations that he exchanged explicit messages with a 15-year-old girl.

But the FBI has not said that the newly discovered emails belonged to Clinton herself, and it is still reviewing whether they contain any classified information. Comey said that the FBI would take "appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation."
