Trevor Noah, the newly installed host of “The Daily Show,” underwent an emergency appendectomy early this morning, Comedy Central said Wednesday.

Because Noah is recovering after the surgery, the network will air a rerun of the show Wednesday night, with a new episode slated for Thursday.
