Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) said on Wednesday that he’s excited to support Donald Trump’s bid for the presidency because he thinks the GOP nominee will bring “change,” even if that change isn’t “good.”

“I’m more excited to vote for Trump than I was to vote for Romney-Ryan,” Massie told 55KRC Ohio radio’s Brian Thomas, according to a clip highlighted by Buzzfeed News. “I think you’re more likely to get change. I don’t know if it’s gonna be a good change, but you gotta break eggs to make an omelette.”

Massie assured listeners that he and his fellow members of Congress will reign in the president, no matter who is elected.

The congressman also noted that while he is on board the Trump train, there is still some “disunity” in the Republican party.

“Frankly, I still think [House Speaker] Paul Ryan’s having a hard time getting on board,” he said. “And I don’t think he’s a Gary Johnson voter. I’m just gonna tell you. I think some of these guys would secretly in their hearts rather have Hillary win and they’ll take a crack at it in 2020 than to have Donald Trump win and upset their apple cart and their agenda that they’ve laid out for this country.”

Is there something in the water in Kentucky that make folks just plain stupid?
