Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said multiple media outlets have told him they have bombshell stories about Republican frontrunner Donald Trump – but they’re not running them.

“I can’t tell you how many media outlets I hear, you know, have this great exposé on Donald, on different aspects of his business dealings or his past, but they said, ‘You know what? We’re going to hold it to June or July. We’re not going to run it now,'” Cruz said on “Face the Nation.”

“You’re saying reporters have told you that?” host John Dickerson asked.

“Absolutely,” the senator responded.

But when Dickerson pressed for which organizations are sitting on these big stories, Cruz said he wouldn’t name names.

“You know, look, I’m not going to out media outlets, but I can tell you, there is so much there,” he said.

Cruz also said former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney “rightly observed” there’s a “bombshell” lurking in Trump’s tax returns, which the billionaire has not released.

He also suggested journalists haven’t been asking questions about what Trump told The New York Times in an off-the-record meeting with the paper’s editorial board.

“I promise you, come the general election, that will be the singular focus,” Cruz said.
