Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said in an interview aired Sunday that transgender individuals weren’t “the real danger.”

“If you pass a law, as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and Barack Obama want, that says any adult man can go into — a girl’s restroom if he feels like a woman at that minute, listen, the real danger is not people who are transgendered,” Cruz said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press. “It’s people who are predators.”

Cruz has said that he supports lawmakers efforts in North Carolina to prevent people from using the bathroom of their choosing. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said he would allow individuals to use the bathroom of their choice.

Cruz continued and said, that predators will “use that law as an excuse to go target our kids.”
