Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Monday slammed the blaring siren link referral site Drudge Report as an attack dog for Republican presidential rival Donald Trump.

Asked by radio host Mike Slater what he thinks about the all-caps site linking to stories that make him seem like “a crazy weirdo,” Cruz took the opening to diss the site, which is run by fedora aficionado Matt Drudge.

“Drudge Report over the years has done a good job highlighting the excesses of the left and the excesses of liberalism, and about the past month the Drudge Report has basically become the attack site for the Donald Trump campaign,” Cruz said in an interview first flagged by BuzzFeed Politics.

“And so every day they have the latest Trump attack, they’re directed at me. By all appearances, Roger Stone now decides what’s on Drudge,” he continued. “Most days, they have six-month-old article that is some attack on me and it’s whatever the Trump campaign is pushing that day will be the banner headline on Drudge.”

The Texas senator also claimed Drudge, known for hyping Obama birthers, conspiracy theories, and bear rape hoaxes, doesn’t cover news like election results anymore, including Cruz’s clean sweep in Colorado over the weekend.
