The student who shot and killed a teacher and injured two students Monday at a Nevada middle school used a semi-automatic handgun, police officials said in a press conference.

The student shot and killed Michael Landberry, a math teacher at Sparks Middle School.

The student also shot two 12-year-old boys, one in the shoulder and the other in the abdomen, according to officials. Both injured boys are in stable condition.

The shooter then turned the gun on himself and died from the self-inflicted gun wound, police said.
