Miss Universe host Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutiérrez Arévalo, as the winner of the pageant on Sunday.
Too bad for Harvey and Arévalo, the winner was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Here’s the video of the moment, from the Associated Press via the New York Times:
Harvey, a comedian and game show host, opted for a quick on-stage apology, followed by a series of tweets after he left the stage. In those tweets, Harvey initially misspelled both countries.
I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.

I don't want to take away from this amazing night and pageant. As well as the wonderful contestants. They were all amazing.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who used to own the Miss Universe pageant, weighed in on the mishap on Monday morning.
Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant. I sold it 6 months ago for a record price. This would never have happened!

Trump also suggested making Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines co-winners during a Monday morning interview on “TODAY.”
