Stephen Hayes, a senior writer for the conservative Weekly Standard, said Tuesday that he was told he had been placed on the Department of Homeland Security’s terrorist watch list.

Hayes has authored a book on al-Qaeda’s connection with Saddam Hussein and a biography of Vice President Dick Cheney.
