Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius on Wednesday said that the health insurance marketplace is working.
“The marketplace is working and people are enrolling,” she said in a press call. “In every part of our country, people are very interested.”
Sebelius’ statement followed an announcement of low health plan enrollment numbers during the first month, Oct. 1-Nov. 2.
Only 26,794 people selected an insurance plan through healthcare.gov, the federal marketplace website, and 106,185 total selected a plan through state-run and federal marketplaces.
