Ron Fournier has a penchant for critiquing President Obama’s leadership. His columns are regularly picked up by Matt Drudge and fawned over by Joe Scarborough. As a reporter for the Associated Press, Fournier had an email correspondence with Karl Rove that was a bit too friendly.
Fournier is also, at least in the mind of Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus, a liberal.
Priebus pointed to Fournier’s latest National Journal column, titled “Why I’m Getting Sick of Defending Obamacare,” as evidence that even “liberal journalists are having a hard time defending” the new health care law.

The ideological designation probably comes as a surprise to actual liberals, who are often left incensed by Fournier’s ongoing lament over Obama’s supposed inability to lead.
In October, Fournier compared the bumpy Obamacare rollout to the Iraq war and Hurricane Katrina.
