Donald Trump on Wednesday morning announced that he would nominate Rick Perry to be energy secretary, confirming reports that he would choose the former Texas governor to lead the department.
“As the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry created created a business climate that produced millions of new jobs and lower energy prices in his state, and he will bring that same approach to our entire country as Secretary of Energy,” Trump said in a statement. “My administration is going to make sure we take advantage of our huge natural resource deposits to make America energy independent and create vast new wealth for our nation, and Rick Perry is going to do an amazing job as the leader of that process.”
Perry has been nominated to lead the department that he once said he wanted to eliminate. As energy secretary, Perry would oversee the United States’ nuclear arsenal, and some energy department employees have used the social coast of carbon metric, which helps determine the impact of reducing carbon emissions.
Should nuclear energy and weapons research really fall under the purview of a Secretary of Oops?
Considering the other cabinet picks who actually hate their departments, shouldn’t this have gone to a Luddite who lives off the grid?

This is the same as Trump hiring an arsonist to manage his hotel chain,blow it up and burn it down, the Democrats can always fix it in 4 to 8 years just like the Democrats had to clean up after George W.
