Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) couldn’t resist the chance to take another shot at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Monday night.

During an appearance on Fox News Channel, Paul challenged Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) recent contention that the GOP’s 2016 nominee must be someone outside of Congress.

“I think [voters] want someone outside of, you know, what’s been going on,” Paul said, adding that a governor isn’t “necessarily an outsider.”

When he was asked if Christie is a conservative, Paul demurred.

“You know, depends on how you define that. If you have a very loose definition, probably,” Paul said. The senator said that on issues like the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion, Christie made “at best, moderate decisions.”

It’s the latest chapter in an ongoing feud between the two high-profile Republicans and the second time in a week that Paul questioned Christie’s conservative credentials.
