Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus declined to provide details about House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) Thursday meeting with Donald Trump during an interview with MSNBC, but repeatedly described the meeting as “positive” and “cooperative.”

Preibus hosted the meeting at the RNC’s offices adjacent to the Capitol complex.

“It was a positive mood. It was a mood of cooperation and a feeling that it’s time to unify the party. And I think both parties wanted to do that. It was great. It was really a positive step toward unification,” Priebus said when asked about the mood at the meeting.

When asked where Ryan and Trump were able to agree and whether the two discussed Trump’s proposed Muslim ban, Priebus said he would not “get into an specifics.”

“I hate to spoil the fun, but it was a private meeting, private conversation. Certainly everything you’re hearing about is accurate, that it was all positive,” he said. “It was cooperative, it was great.”

Priebus also addressed whether Trump will force changes to the Republican Party platform.

“He’s in the line with the platform. There’s never 100 percent [unity] on anything. I don’t think most of us agree with our own spouses 100 percent of the time,” he said. “But like Reagan said, my 80 percent friend is not my 20 percent enemy, we believe that.”
