On Thursday evening, members of the Biden family gathered at the Delaware Legislative Hall for a memorial service honoring former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden. The oldest son of Vice President Joe Biden died on May 30 after a battle with brain cancer.

More than 1,000 people attended the public mourning, according to CNN. More services are scheduled through the weekend, and President Barack Obama will deliver the eulogy at Biden’s funeral on Saturday.
