Indiana Gov. Mike Pence on Monday morning said that there is not any truth to reports that he is considering dropping off the Republican ticket, despite the fallout from a 2005 video that surfaced on Friday revealing vulgar comments Donald Trump made about women.

“It’s absolutely false to suggest that at any point in time we considered dropping off this ticket,” he said on CNN. “It’s been the greatest honor of my life to have been nominated by my party to be the next vice president of the United States of America.”

After the video was released, Pence condemned Trump’s comments in the video, but did not say he would drop off the ticket. But after the campaign cancelled Pence’s appearance with House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) at a campaign event in Wisconsin, as well as Pence’s appearance at a fundraiser in New Jersey set for Monday, questions arose about Pence’s future on the campaign. But the Trump campaign has insisted that Pence never considered dropping out.

Pence said on “Fox and Friends” Monday morning that he believes Trump has sufficiently addressed the tape.

“I was offended by what I saw on that video, said that I didn’t condone it, couldn’t defend it, urged him to show his heart to the American people on Sunday night. I think he’s done that,” Pence said on Fox News. “My hope is that people across the country, including elected officials, believe in redemption as much as I do, believe in second chances as much as I do. Here’s someone who in an 11-year-old video made comments that he regrets and has apologized for.”

  3. The fact that the question is being asked–not just mooted around on the 'net, but asked of him–is what counts.
