Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R) was asked to say “a few good things” about his competitors in the Maine governors race and he said that he doesn’t follow them.

The comment came during a debate on Tuesday night. The first response came from Independent candidate Elliot Cutler who highlighted Rep. Mike Michaud’s (D-ME) work for New Balance and LePage on reforming welfare. Then, when LePage’s turn came, he touted his own work, saying he was proud of “bucking the system” and his work on domestic violence. LePage was then pressed to make comments about his two opponents.

“My opponents? I don’t know, I don’t follow them,” LePage said.

LePage is facing a serious possibility of losing in his fight for re-election. The TPM Polltracker average finds LePage leading the rest of the field by just 0.9 points.

For guys like this, it is a feature, not a bug.

  2. How sad for Maine if this scumbag manages to slip into office a second time thanks to the three-way race.

  3. LePage: The answer to the old Maine question/insult “What are you, French?” :shit:

  4. Hopefully enough Cutler supporters will see the handwriting on the wall and vote for Michaud on election day.
