Police have confirmed that they are now investigating “several shooting incidents” Wednesday in downtown Ottawa, Canada after at least one person was injured when shots were fired inside Canadian Parliament.

One person was injured after shots rang out inside Parliament Hill’s Centre Block, where the main legislative building is located. It is unclear whether the person was a member of law enforcement or a suspect.

Separately, a solider was injured after being shot while standing guard at the Ottawa War Memorial. That shooting took place before the shooting at the Centre Block.

Police said on Twitter that a third incident occurred near the Rideau Centre, a major shopping mall a block away from the War Memorial.

There are conflicting reports about whether or not a gunman has been shot and killed. The Ottawa Citizen, CBC News and CTV News reported that a gunman was confirmed dead inside Parliament Hill’s Centre Block.

The Globe and Mail and the Associated Press reported that police would not confirm whether a gunman had been apprehended or shot, however. Constable Marc Soucy told the Globe and Mail that he was “not aware” of any suspect having been shot.

Constable Chuck Benoit told Fox News that Ottawa police are looking for “possibly three” suspects.
