Donald Trump’s dominance in the GOP presidential race has Americans looking north, but President Obama said Thursday that people used that same line when he was running for office.
Asked about how a Trump or Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) presidency would affect the relationship between the U.S. and Canada, Obama said the interests between the two countries are bipartisan.
“I do want to point out, I am absolutely certain that in 2012, when there was the possibility that I would be re-elected, there were folks who were threatening to go to Canada as well,” he said in a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
After Trump’s victories on Super Tuesday, “how to move to Canada” started trending and there was a spate of articles about how to make the move.
Everybody who says that is full of bull, regardless of party.
During the Obama presidency, reality tv has come of age, so it makes sense that we now will produce a Tabloid President. It’s trending that way, anyway.
So Kevin O’ Neill goes bye-bye
No more ‘Shark Tank’…
As with Putin, the only threats to President Trump are other corporate interests and the present soon-to-be-disappeared Beltway media.
Well I watched the entire conference and he said a lot more than that but as usual Obama was classy, thoughtful and brilliant. It was wonderful to have the Prime Minister of Canada visit us - it has been more than 20 years since such a visit.
Two very brilliant men - it was a pleasure to watch and thank goodness for the foreign reporters in attendance who asked good questions
