President Barack Obama may be a tad sore about having his record for the most-retweeted tweet in history broken by Ellen DeGeneres and a cast of Hollywood stars.
DeGeneres bested Obama’s 2012 election night tweet with over a million retweets for the selfie she snapped at this year’s Academy Awards with a huge group of nominees and presenters.
“I heard about that. I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt, myself,” Obama joked in an episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airing Thursday. “Getting a bunch of celebrities in the background, you giving them pizza.”
The President’s turn on DeGeneres’ show is the latest in a line of media appearances aimed at encouraging young people to sign up for health care by the March 31 deadline. He’s already taken a notable turn on actor Zack Galifianakis’ online faux-celebrity interview show “Between Two Ferns” and talked “dad jeans” with Ryan Seacrest.
