The New York Times reported Thursday that Donald Trump’s campaign is signaling he’ll select Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
Citing “three people with knowledge of the conversations,” the Times reported that Trump’s advisers have told Republican officials they’re preparing for an announcement with Pence. Trump said he will formally announce who he has selected Friday at 11 a.m. ET.
Roll Call also reported that Pence would be Trump’s vice presidential pick, citing an anonymous source. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are also among those Trump was considering to be his running mate.
However, senior Trump staffers tweeted Thursday afternoon that Trump had not yet made a decision:
Re: @realDonaldTrump VP selection, a decision will be made in the near future and the announcement will be tomorrow at 11am in New York.

1/2 A decision has not been made by Mr. Trump. He will be making a decision in the future…

2/2 …and will be announcing his Vice Presidential pick tomorrow at 11am as planned.

Well, that will broaden the base…
Trump is such a childish twit I can see him changing his choice in a fit of pique over word leaking out about Pence.
The 2016 GOP is “base” in every sense of the word.
