House Homeland Security Chairman Mike McCaul (R-TX) is still weighing his options for a higher even after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) endorsed Donald Trump.

Ever since Cruz refused to endorse Trump at the Republican National Convention in July, questions have surfaced about whether Cruz might be vulnerable to a Republican primary challenger.

In September, Cruz finally offered an endorsement of Trump as Republican pressure mounted in Texas.

However, McCaul told the Dallas Morning News that Cruz’s late endorsement “doesn’t change anything.”

“I’m keeping my options open in terms of what would be the next step,” he told the Dallas Morning News.
