Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) voted against keeping Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) as Democratic leader when Republicans take control of Congress.

Landrieu voted against making Reid Democratic minority leader in the next Congress.

“This morning, I cast my vote against the status quo leadership to send a signal of my determination to continue to be an independent voice on behalf of the people of Louisiana,” Landrieu said according to NOLA.com.

Landrieu’s vote puts her in a small trio, alongside Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) who said they opposed Reid as minority leader.

Landrieu is facing a tough runoff fight in the Louisiana race for U.S. Senate. She will face Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) in the runoff on Dec. 6.
