Organizers of a march set to be held in Cleveland ahead of the Republican National convention cancelled the event, citing concerns following the shooting in Dallas that left five police officers dead, according to Cleveland.com.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the event’s sponsor, had planned for the march to take place on Sunday, the day before the GOP convention begins, and Al Sharpton was set to headline the march.

“In the current uncertain environment nationwide, we are concerned for police officers who would be charged with protecting our marchers and advocates as well as for the safety and wellbeing of our march participants,” Michael Weinstein, president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, told Cleveland.com. “In an abundance of caution, we have therefore decided to remain on campus and not march.”

The group will still hold a concert on Sunday at Cleveland State University to call on Republicans to address AIDS, income inequality and social justice issues. Cornel West will deliver remarks ahead of the concert.
