“The Nightly Show” panel on Monday took on Republican presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s weekend message to black voters of “hope and aspiration” and no “free stuff.”
“What kind of free stuff does Jeb think we’re getting?” host Larry Wilmore asked.
Contributor Mike Yard said he must’ve been blacklisted from the free stuff list because “I ain’t never gotten no free shit.”
The panelists said Bush’s comments miss the larger point of systemic racism experienced by black Americans.
“We still have to convince Republicans racism is real. That’s like we have to convince people global warming is real,” contributor Rory Albanese said. “Now we can’t even fix it because we have to convince you that it exists. That’s a huge waste of time.”

Did you just say the Republican Organization (Party) is a ‘huge waste of time’?
Every white person knows it’s real, they just won’t admit how much it affects black people. Having read Black Like Me in high school I found this snl skit hilarious…talk about one group of people getting free stuff…
The GOP/Teatrolls ARE racism. You’re asking the fish to recognize that they’re wet.

(*Pssst…You’ll have much better luck doing the latter than the former. Good luck!)

The GOP knows that racism is real. Most, not all, but most, are just very comfortable with it.
