Larry Wilmore decided to get straight to the heavy material on the second night of Comedy Central’s post-Stephen Colbert era “The Nightly Show.”
“I would say enough have come forward, I mean the current tally stands at 35 women,” Willmore said on Tuesday.
“Let’s understand this number, okay,” he continued. “That’s like if Bill Cosby drugged and raped every U.S. President from George Washington to John F. Kennedy.”
Wilmore proceeded to let out a series of Cosby-esque growls for about a minute.
“Let’s consider for a second that Cosby didn’t do it,” he said. After a clock appeared on screen and counted down a literal second, Wilmore said, “okay, we’re done.”

Haven’t seen this one yet, but we really liked the first one. Liked the large panel discussion, kinda like Maher. I hope it does well. In the first episode, he went after Sharpton, and in the second he went after Cosby. Wonder if there was a tactical reason for doing that on the first two shows.
Yet another panel show? To replace Colbert? I give it very long odds of succeeding.
Haha…merciless…this gives me hope for his show.
There is nothing wrong with another panel show especially if Wilmore uses it as a forum for getting other voices heard. But I think he should expand beyond just being a panel show because I find his take on the issues of the day to be both different and slyly intelligent. But, at the same time, it’s a good thing that Wilmore is not trying to become a character ala Colbert.
most likely. Just a guess, establishing that he’s not going to play favorites, neither with race nor with political persuasion. I loooove Jon Stewart, and he does criticize Obama and Hillary and Democrats, but it is pretty clear that Stewart is a liberal and he spends most of his time lampooning Republicans and conservatives.
