Rep. Peter King (R-NY), an outspoken critic of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), criticized the senator’s foreign policy views when it comes to Russia on Sunday.
“He said we tweaked the Russians too much,” King said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“He’s trying to somehow tell Americans we can retreat from the world, that America is an imperial power; if we retreated the world would be safer. The fact is nothing could make the world more dangerous than if America did retreat, go back into isolationism. This is not the days for Charles Lindbergh. We have to be a strong and viable nation, and we cannot allow isolationists to take over the Republican party.”
Paul on Sunday defended his views on American policy toward Russia, arguing that his position is part of the “mainstream” GOP stance.
