As someone familiar with the editorial standards of the Fox News Channel, Jon Stewart couldn’t quite comprehend that Fox fully retracted its false reports on “no-go zones” set up by European Muslims.

“I’ll be damned,” the host of “The Daily Show” said on Tuesday. “It’s the rare Foxus Contritus, of legend.”

Stewart reviewed the now-infamous Fox coverage of fictional “no-go zones” in Europe that are Muslim-only and run by Sharia law. The channel apologized multiple times over the weekend for its erroneous reports.

“How bad does bullshit have to smell before the odor is detected by people who live on a mountain made out of that substance?” he asked.

Stewart went on to mock some of the original coverage, such as self-styled anti-terror expert Steve Emerson’s claim that the entire city of Birmingham, England was a Muslim-only zone. A Fox News spokesperson later said it was “highly unlikely” that Emerson will “ever be booked again.”
