Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) thought something was up when the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water tweeted Monday night about reality star Kim Kardashian’s mobile game.
The original tweet, which appeared to be auto-generated and has since been deleted, read “I’m now a C-List celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!”
Dingell, one of the original architects of the Clean Water Act, tweeted that he had no idea who or what a Kardashian was:
I’m the last original author of the Clean Water Act, but I have no idea who/what a Kardashian is and I rarely play games. You OK, @EPAwater?

But by Tuesday morning the congressman’s staff had presumably distilled nine seasons of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” for him:
Staff has now informed me of what a Kardashian is.
I’m only left with more questions.

For its part, the EPA’s Office of Water apologized for the auto-tweet but not for the publicity:
Whoops…our bad. Sorry about tweet. Upside – more attention for the Office of Water (http://t.co/GhuYcpwqwx), thanks @KimKardashian
