Joe Scarborough says “humorless liberals” didn’t get that he was joking when he interrupted his “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski during a discussion of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.
During the show’s first half hour on Monday, Brzezinski stepped in after a fair bit of theorizing about what happened to the plane to move the show’s panelists off the missing jet story and onto the latest news from Ukraine instead.
“We shouldn’t be talking about theories,” she said over Scarborough’s interruptions. “If you want to go to a network that has theories about Pakistan just blared across for hours and hours and hours, you’ve got many choices out there.”
“But that’s actually capitalizing on a non-story for the sake of ratings because people’s imaginations are pricked by this, and that’s not responsible,” she continued. “We did the plane, we will do the plane, it will be done again. We will do the facts.”
Scarborough tweeted later Monday that he was “mocking” himself when he told Brzezinski to lower her voice — just another example of the duo’s signature banter. He also confirmed that he did not go to Pakistan on spring break (he was actually in Florida), in case that wasn’t already clear to any “humorless liberals” watching.
For humorless liberals who thought I was being rude to Mika today, my sincere apologies that you are too thick to get the joke.

I’m always the loudmouth Mika has to make calm down. I was mocking myself. Oh yeah. I also didn’t go to Pakistan on Spring Break.

Oh yeah. And I also didn’t practice meditation during spring break. ME telling Mika to lower her voice is laughable. I’m the loudmouth. #DUH
