Lawyers for former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson responded Thursday to the denials by Fox boss Roger Ailes of her sexual harassment allegations against him.

“Regarding Ailes’ claims that Gretchen’s allegations are false, we challenge him to deny, under oath, that he made the statements attributed to him in the Complaint,” Carlson’s lawyers wrote in a statement released on Facebook.

Carlson, in a lawsuit she filed against Ailes, claimed that he fired her after years of him asking her to have sex with him as well as making crude comments about her appearance.

Ailes called her lawsuit “retaliatory” after the network refused to renew her contract due to her low ratings. Her lawyers refuted that she had low ratings.

“Ailes’ claim that Gretchen Carlson was terminated because of bad ratings is demonstrably false,” Carlson’s lawyers wrote, saying she was successful despite being moved to a “challenging time slot and denied support and promotion.”

The lawyers further argued that Carlson wrote her story “while trying to keep her job” knowing that Ailes had to approve all materials published. The lawyers also claimed he doesn’t allow his employees to speak to the press.

“Gretchen was chastised for answering a question from a hometown newspaper about her favorite Minnesota State Fair food,” they wrote.

  1. She couldn’t possibly have taped him, right?

We’ll see how far this goes. If she drops the case after a “confidential settlement” is reached, we may never know. I hope she and the others take it all the way. Love to see them go down in flames.

Pretty sophomoric lawyer trick, but you never know if FOX will swing at the softball being lofted. Emails, taping, a few well-placed coworkers, who knows… just waiting for that denial so they can start the beat-down.

  5. It will go to the settlement level.

Right now James Murdoch is trying to figure out who gave the baseball game/sex statement to Fields

If that statement is true, only the amount of zeroes will be in play.
