George Zimmerman was arrested for aggravated assault, Friday night in Lake Mary, Fla., according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
Zimmerman was arrested around 9:45 p.m. on Friday by the Lake Mary police. According to news reports and the booking notice at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, the incident also involved domestic violence and a weapon.
He was not initially granted bond, but was granted a $5,000 bond at a court appearance Saturday morning, according to WFTV.
Zimmerman was then released on bond at 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s office.
Though he did not use a firearm during the incident, Zimmerman was asked to surrender all firearms.
The judge ordered Zimmerman not to have contact with the victim.
Zimmerman was acquitted of murder in 2013 after he shot and killed unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.
“Not to worry, I’ll beat this rap,” Mr. Zimmerman added.
“Zimmerman was arrested around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday by the Lake Mary police and will appear in court at 9 a.m. on Saturday.”
He’s appearing in court before he was arrested? To bad he just doesn’t appear on jail–and stay there.
