Jon Stewart was visibly amped up on Wednesday as he reacted to the “rich buffet of bullshit” served up by Fox News in their coverage of poverty.
This week, Fox hosts reacted in unison to a criticism from President Obama made during a panel at Georgetown on Tuesday, after the he said the channel demonized the poor.
“Yep, just like college students at a four-hour commencement, Fox News basically pays no attention until they hear their own names,” the host of “The Daily Show” said.
Fox host Stuart Varney cried that Obama was dodging discussion of his own policy failures and attacking “us, the honest messengers.”
“The honest messengers,” Stewart said, in disbelief.
Stewart rolled a barrage of clips (a “prick-fest”) cataloging “Fox’s contempt for those in poverty,” including features named things like, “Entitlement Nation,” “freeloaders,” “moochers,” and poor people “sucking on the nipple of the government.”

Words cannot describe how much I will miss this man. The ability to use humor to wipe away bullshit is rarer than a conservative who believes in climate change.
Thank you Jon for calling a spade a spade.
Mr. Stewart, while I realize that looking at Fox News is depressing work, for those of us who can’t watch it - it makes me too angry - your reports have been illuminating. I hope you find satisfaction, at least, in the idea that some of the Fox assholes who watch your skewering of them sleep just a little less soundly. Somewhere in the back of Stuart Varney’s little mind, when he looks out the limo window at one of the hoi polloi crossing the street, or when he’s grunting at the doorman in his building, he wonders, ¨has that person watched the Daily Show, and thus knows what a despicable craven asshole I really am?¨
Yeah, me too. I am hopeful for Trevor Noah. I was personally rooting for Jordan Klepper to get the seat, but I like Noah as well. I don’t want a single thing to change regarding the format. NOTHING!!! Don’t try and make it your own, Trevor, just pick up the ball and keep running!!!
This is my favorite Jon Stewart clip:
This is the one where Jon watches Fox News to hear Hannity’s apology. Hilarious, and so accurate. At the end he thanks the person who watches Fox News for him.
