Schools were on lockdown after a report of a person with a gun at El Paso Community College Friday afternoon. The lock down was lifted at 2:30 p.m. and the school district report that “everyone is safe.”
Lockdowns began at Canutillo High, Northwest Early College High, and Canutillo Central Office at about 12:10 p.m. after the report came in, the Canutillo Independent School District posted online.
Law enforcement were on the scene, according to the school district’s post.
The news comes one day after the massacre at Umpqua Community College in Roseberg, Ore. left 10 dead, including the gunman.
