Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump praised CNN and said that moderators asked “really good questions” during its Wednesday night debate.
It was a far cry from the first GOP debate, when he went to war with the host, Fox News, in the aftermath. Following that debate, he said the Fox moderators asked him “unfair” questions and treated him badly. He also faced criticism for saying moderator Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
The CNN debate was moderated by CNN host Jake Tapper, CNN chief political correspondent Dana Bash, and conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt.
“I thought it was a lot of substance tonight. I thought the questions were really good,” Trump told reporters. “I thought Jake and the team were excellent. I thought CNN did a really good job.”
Now we know it was sad.
Big Door wouldn’t know a good job if it smoothed his hair for the day.
Basically, I think the moderators figured out that with this big a crowd of desperate for attention candidates, that holding them to strict rules would be like herding cats.
So instead they just sort of built a fence around the cats and let them go at it ,tossing any that were getting lost on the edge of the fence back into fray every now and then.
Once again… The narcissist-in-chief gets it backwards on who is supposed to be rating who —
How does the presence of Hugh Hewitt, a decidedly conservative radio host, at the moderators’ table constitute a “good job” by CNN? What’s next, Rush Limbaugh? Shouldn’t debate moderators at least feign a semblance of informed neutrality. This was a long, painful, and pathetic joke!
