Former CIA Director David Petraeus was berated and followed by protesters Monday as he walked to his new job as a visiting professor at The City University of New York (CUNY).
A video posted this week shows individuals described on YouTube as “CUNY students” shouting expletives at Petraeus and calling him a “war criminal” as he walked the streets of New York City on the day of his first lecture at the school. The retired general did not react to the taunts.
Petraeus agreed to serve as a visiting professor at CUNY earlier this year. He drew criticism when it was reported that he stood to earn a $200,000 salary at the school. The backlash prompted Petraeus and CUNY to reduce his salary to $1.
