On Thursday night, “The Daily Show” said goodbye to its longest-serving correspondent and member of “The Best F#@king News Team,” Samantha Bee.
“We’ve been down this road a few times this year, each time it’s not easy,” host Jon Stewart began.
After rolling a tape of some of Bee’s segments from her reign, Bee came onstage briefly, teary-eyed, and gave a bow.
Bee came on the show in 2003, a transplant from Canada. She specialized in a kind of Socratic method, feigning ignorance while allowing her subjects to embarrass themselves.
Bee’s husband and fellow “Daily Show” alum Jason Jones departed earlier this year. Stewart himself is slated to leave on Aug. 6.

It’s a huge job to replace these guys…
I’ll miss her the most. I always loved her interviews.
Samantha Bee was incredibly funny on the show. Her Improv classes must have been hysterical because only Stephen Colbert matches her insane wit. She and her husband Jason Jones have a new comedy on TNT or TBS.
It has to be acknowledged that she was given a ton of material to work from. I’d thank the GOP but they would consider that an attack by a raving Liberal.
She was the BEST! I’ll miss her almost as much as I’ll miss John himself.
