A crowd of rowdy Donald Trump supporters lobbed insults at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) during a Monday campaign stop in Marion, Indiana.
“You are the problem!” a crowd of anonymous men carrying Trump signs yelled at the Texas senator, calling him a “career politician.”
“Where is your Goldman Sachs jacket? We know your wife works there,” one jeered.
“On immigration, you know Donald Trump had a million-dollar judgment against him for hiring illegal aliens?” Cruz countered. “You know what he’s doing right now in Florida? He brings in hundreds of foreign workers instead of hiring Americans. Sir, with all due respect, Donald Trump is deceiving you. He is playing you for a chump.”
The tense exchange, led by a man wearing sunglasses, only got more heated from there. As Cruz tried to paint his top Republican rival as a dishonest defender of the elite, Trump’s supporters challenged Cruz on immigration, the Second Amendment and even his eligibility to run for president.
“Donald Trump has accused everyone in this race of being a liar. Donald cannot tell the truth in one minute,” Cruz said.
“You’ll find out tomorrow Indiana don’t want you,” a Trump supporter shot back, referring to the Hoosier State’s primary contest on Tuesday.
Some Cruz supporters in the crowed yelled “Yes we do!”
“Sir, America is a better place—” Cruz cut in.
The man in the sunglasses finished his sentence: “Without you.”
“Thank you for those kind sentiments. Let me point out that I have treated you respectfully this entire time and a question that every one here should ask—” Cruz said before he was interrupted again.
“Are you Canadian?” a man out of reach of the cameras asked as the Trump supporters chuckled.
As proof of his opponent’s dishonesty, Cruz tried to pivot to Trump denying that wrestler Mike Tyson, who has endorsed him, is a rapist.
“Tyson was convicted by a jury of his peers, served three years for rape here in the state of Indiana, and yet Donald screams that it’s a lie to say that Mike Tyson is a rapist. Sir, facts matter. Truth matters,” Cruz told the man in sunglasses.
“But you want to carpet bomb women and children, huh?” the man fired back. He explained that Cruz’s plan to “strategically” carpet bomb areas of the Middle East that are controlled by the Islamic State would result in the death of innocent civilians.
“I added the ‘women and children’ cause that’s what you’re gonna be doing when you carpet bomb somewhere,” the man said.
Cruz pointed out that Trump has vowed to kill the family members of Islamic State fighters in order to eradicate the threat of terrorism.
While this incident was particularly heated, the Texas senator has endured a rough few days on the trail in Indiana. Last week, he was caught on camera in a heated exchange with a woman who called him “the establishment candidate.” On Sunday, a young heckler yelled “you suck” at Cruz during an event in La Porte.

The first lesson everyone with a microphone must learn is how to deal with hecklers. Cruz fails.
Also, something about “We don’t need no education”.
“Indiana wants me. Lord I can’t go back there!”
