A gun control group backed by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg plans to roll out a campaign in the coming days demanding that members of Congress explain how they earned their “A” ratings from the National Rifle Association.

The group, Moms Demand Action, has put together a series of social media messages depicting ominous qualifications for the perfect rating by the NRA.

In one of them, the group shows a photo of congressman juxtaposed with the image of Al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn. It includes the text: “Does your A grade from the NRA mean you support gun rights for suspected terrorists?”

The messages come in two other styles, needling the congressman about gun rights for felons and domestic abusers.

Initially, the moms plan to target three GOP members of Congress: Carl Domino of Florida, Paul Chabot of California, and Larry Kaifesh of Illinois.

Moms Demand Action will give its supports an easy option to post the messages to Facebook and Twitter from a page dedicated to each congressman. The group told TPM on Friday other congressmen may be included in the future.

“Even when Al Qaeda recorded a video calling on members to exploit America’s weak gun laws and buy guns to attack us, the NRA continued to fight for the gun rights of people who are on terror watch lists or are otherwise suspected of being involved in terrorist activity,” the text reads on one of the pages. “Why would they want to defend the gun rights of someone who is considered too dangerous to board a plane?”

Last month, Moms Demand Action launched a striking nationwide campaign against the major retailer Kroger for its gun policies in stores.
