Speaking to the media on her campaign plane, Hillary Clinton said Thursday that Donald Trump’s alleged activities in violation of the Cuban embargo “appear to violate U.S. law” and “certainly flout American foreign policy.”

Clinton continued that Trump “has consistently misled people in responding to questions about whether he was attempting to do business in Cuba. So this adds to the long list of actions and statements that raise doubts about his temperament and qualification to be president and commander-in-chief.”

A Newsweek cover story out Thursday morning reported that in 1998, Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts paid a consulting group more than $68,000 to explore business opportunities in Cuba, including in a trip to the island.
