A video screened onstage Tuesday at the Democratic National Convention showed Hillary Clinton privately meeting in November 2015 with the Mothers of the Movement, a group of black women whose children’s deaths shone a spotlight on police and gun violence and sparked protests across the U.S.
The video showed Sybrina Fulton, Geneva Reed-Veal, Lucia McBath, Gwen Carr, Cleopatra Pendelton, Maria Hamilton, Lezley McSpadden and Wanda Johnson meeting with Clinton.
At one point in the video, one of the mothers asked Clinton what the group could do to prevent the kind of violence that claimed their children’s lives.
“Well I think, you can continue to speak out but you will be more effective if you do somehow band together so that it’s a constant drumbeat. As to say, ‘Look, we are citizens, we are mothers, we lost children,” Clinton responded. “This is not only wrong it is unacceptable here are the things that need to happen to try and prevent this from ever happening again.”

And the Bernie Bros walked out in protest before this amazing night out of petulance. Shame on them.
the mothers of the movement tribute to the black lives movement was the highlight of the prime time line up.
It totally was. My god - my heart just was wrung over and over. It was amazing.
Ask not what your country can do for you: ask what you can do for your country.
For your sons and daughters.
Your country. It belongs to all of us.
Get involved.
Not all that many of them. Not many at all. And it’s time to let the ones that did go, and hope they find their way back. We are stronger together.
