Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel delivered remarks Tuesday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington with a bandage covering his left cheek.

A defense official told NBC News that Hagel was involved in a “minor kitchen mishap” that didn’t require stitches.
