MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski is apparently getting the cold shoulder from her good friend, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R).

“I want to know why he won’t return my calls,” Brzezinski said, as quoted by Politico’s Mike Allen.

Brzezinski and her fellow “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough have never denied their friendship with Christie, a rapport that’s been evident in their program’s coverage of the George Washington Bridge scandal.

Scarborough and Brzezinski teamed up earlier this year to attack Hoboken, N.J. Mayor Dawn Zimmer, who said that Christie shook her down for Hurricane Sandy relief funding.

In February, Brzezinski scrutinized a report in the New York Times that suggested the governor knew about the bridge’s lane closures as they were happening.

And Brzezinski actually spoke on the phone with Christie shortly after his marathon press conference in January, when he announced that he fired his top aide Bridget Anne Kelly for her role in the bridge closures, which some have said were politically motivated.

“He said that when he got off the podium he did not know how much time had gone by ’cause he was gonna answer every question, nothing to hide, some things he can’t answer until he knows more but he wanted to put himself out there,” Brzezinski relayed to her “Morning Joe” cohorts the day after the phone call.
