Sorry to burst your bubble, sports fans.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) called in to the Boomer & Carton Show Thursday to shoot down rumors that he would be replacing host Mike Francesa on WFAN radio.
Christie said that he never put himself in the running for the job.
“To become an official candidate, don’t you have to declare yourself one?” Christie asked, laughing.
The hosts asked him the ultimate question: would he want to be Trump’s national security adviser, another job he was rumored to be up for, or a host on the station?
“I’ll tell you something, Boomer, it’s a very tough choice. But I’m going to keep my powder dry and see what the best offer is. I know that’s what you would do,” Christie said.
Christie denied a New York Post report that he had accepted a position in the White House and that he will serve the remainder of his term as governor before considering other options.
“When my term concludes, at the end of 2017, I will be considering all different kinds of options about what to do next with my career,” he said. “I feel like a bit of a baseball player. I’ll be a free agent for the first time in 16 years. So, we’ll see what happens.”
Though he won’t be accepting a job there, Christie gave a seriously chummy interview with WFAN, a station you might recognize after Christie dropped the tidbit that Trump made him order meatloaf at the White House in an appearance on the station.

Sports radio? I always figured he’d host a revival of the Captain Kangaroo show!
If he grows a mustache and puts on a red coat, he’s a dead ringer!
He’s a natural for the job.
He’s got the foaming at the mouth while ranting contemptuously at his audience part down pat.
But probably waiting for his dream job - hosting the Springsteen channel on SiriusXM.
Don’t you worry guvner, that food tasting job will still be available.
Christie: I rather host FatAndUglyRacists.com; seems more profitable. I might even become POTUS.
He couldn’t handle a call in radio gig, he loses his shit way too easy when people question his “judgement”.
