After Donald Trump was projected the winner of the Indiana primary Tuesday, Fox News’ Brit Hume declared that “this race is basically over.”
Hume said it was “a political impractical matter” for anyone else to keep Trump away from the nomination at this point.
“This race is basically over and Trump has won and the most notable thing about this that strikes me … is … his margins have been mounting and he now bears the same kind of earmark that you used to see in frontrunners who went on to win in the past,” Hume said.
Hume noted that Trump had arrived at the stage in the race where frontrunners “begin to win everywhere and they begin to win big and margins begin to grow.”
