Fox News host Bill O’Reilly criticized Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump for his proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S. during an interview on Wednesday night’s episode of “The O’Reilly Factor.”

Trump called for a “complete and total shutdown” on Muslims entering the U.S. at the beginning of the week. O’Reilly, who has been critical of Trump in the past — said his policy and comments were alienating “friendly Muslim nations.”

“If you say, ‘No Muslims can travel here from overseas,” you’re hurting the United States’ position against ISIS,” O’Reilly told Trump. “We need the friendly Muslim Nations. You can’t insult them like that. You can’t.”

Trump insisted people must be vetted.

“You can vet them,” O’Reilly said. “But you can’t insult the whole religion.”

I don’t think you’ve thought through the unintended consequences of banning an entire religion,” O’Reilly cautioned.

  3. Well that’s entertaining. O’Reilly was one of the guys that drew up the blueprint for a candidate like Trump. FOX mainstreamed the hyperbole, nativism, bullshitting and fear mongering Trump uses everyday. Bill’o can’t just walk away from it now that its crunch time. But it is entertaining to watch these idiots try to tun away from their creation. Someone should tell them they did too good a job though. There’s no ice floe to put Trump on.

Yes, Trump is what a Rush Limbaugh candidacy would look like with Kris Jenner running it.
