Bill Maher wants Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to run and defeat Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.
“Love her. Absolutely. Wish she would run,” the comedian and political commentator told Charlie Rose in an interview. “She would be absolutely my preference above Hillary.”
He said of President Barack Obama, “I would love it if his economic policy was more like Elizabeth Warren’s.”
The host of HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher” is not a big fan of the former secretary of state. Despite his progressive political inclinations, and his donation of $1 million in 2012 to help Obama get re-elected, he said he’d consider supporting Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) over Clinton.
Watch his comments, beginning around the 37:50 minute mark.

When will Bill Maher start his write-in campaign for Ralph Nader?
As soon as Maher hinted he’d support Rand Paul, I lost any remaining interest in his opinion.
Meanwhile, Paul – that great hero against war – is trying so hard to cozy up to his party base, he today attacked Obama for ruling out ground troops in Iraq.
She would be my preference too.
However, she is too important a force in the US Senate to waste on a Presidential campaign.
Presidents are term-limited, Senators are not. Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone with her passion and smarts in office at least as long as John McCain? It will be even better when she gets some seniority or a chair in her committee assignments.
He wishes Obama’s economic policy was more like Warren’s!? Good grief has he not paid any attention? Their thinking is almost identical. However how successful has either been and getting Congress to go along with their thinking?
Why do people forget so easily that Presidents do not have magical powers. Nor does the bully pulpit create a Congress willing to pass your policies.
Idiot alert.
