After residents in a Jackson, Mississippi neighborhood discovered fliers on Monday advising them that the Ku Klux Klan was in the area to provide protection, residents said they don’t want the KKK’s help.
The fliers, which offer a 24/7 “hotline” for residents, read: “The law abiding citizens of your community can sleep in peace knowing the Klan is awake!”
Reached by phone, a man who identified himself to WAPT as a KKK Grand Dragon said they distributed the fliers to let people know the Klan was in the neighborhood to protect residents from their Latino and black neighbors.
“We are here wanting to protect the Christian values of what is left of white America,” he told the reporter. “If an individual is having trouble in his neighborhood…Say he’s having trouble in a Latino neighborhood or of the African Americans in his community…We will look into it.”
Vijay Shah, a neighborhood resident, sent a strong message to the KKK in an interview with WAPT.
“We don’t need your protection, it’s not asked for and it’s not necessary,” Shah said. They’re imposing themselves on something they have no business with.”

The worst thing about this is the fact that we fell asleep at the wheel. I once worked with a young man (a member of a minority group–as I am) and he boasted about having never voted. The fact that he was a nice guy and a family man made it worse.
Anything less than 90% voting for minorities should have been unacceptable.
The Second Reconstruction was the Civil Rights era…and while there was progress, we forgot that the 0.001% and their NEED for racism is still around and, in fact have gotten stronger. If I were a 0.001%-er, I would be jumping for joy at headlines like this. This simply makes us idiots (common people) continue to fight each other, as usual.
We minorites should have been more engaging and CONNECTING with other groups. We blew it.
