The Anti-Defamation League called on Sunday for President Donald Trump’s administration to “do more than speak” against anti-Semitism after hundreds of headstones were overturned at a Jewish cemetery over the weekend.
“We call upon the White House to do more than speak words about anti-Semitism,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. “We demand a plan of action.”

Dozens of headstones were vandalized at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Philadelphia over the weekend. According to a report by WPVI, more than 500 headstones were overturned.
Philadelphia police called the damage to dozens of headstones an act of vandalism, but did not ascribe a specific cause.
More than 100 headstones were tipped over at a Jewish cemetery in Missouri last week, according to a report by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Police said they were investigating the vandalism at the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery in University City, Missouri, but said there was “nothing to indicate it was any type of hate crime.”
